AI but build me a website

#Shipped

There’s now a real website for the You & AI workshops!

Out with the Google Site & in with a website with a real URL: https://www.youandaiwork.com/

It’s not just a new website…

For the first time ever, I’m posting a schedule of open workshop series that goes out a few months, rather than for just the upcoming sessions. So if you know people who are interested but need a bit more planning time than sessions to date have allowed for, you can now direct them to the new site.

Mid-June start date for training:

  • 10am ET on Thursdays starting June 12 - one spot left and last time to get in at the founding price

July start dates for training - just posted

  • Fridays in July at 10am ET starting July 11

August start dates for training - just posted

  • Fridays in August at 12pm ET or 4pm ET starting August 1st

You can enroll in workshop series here. There is also now information about organizational engagements on the website.

How AI helped me build this website

  • Created a work plan for the project—Even having built a website before, it was nice to have a list of steps with time estimates.

  • Directed me where to find things—There are a lot of small details in building a website, from buying & activating the domain to publishing the site. These are the sort of steps where you can easily burn time looking for the right item on the right menu, but AI directed me straight to them.

  • Generated the images—I previously would have spent ages in Canva or scouring stock photos; AI helped me quickly create visuals that were both cohesive and evocative.

  • Made swift style decisions—Instead of deliberating over fonts and colors, I used AI to land on strong choices quickly.

  • Punched up copy—I was bringing a fair amount of text over from the Google Site but wanted to make it snappier, and AI helped with this punch up. I’d guess the Coauthored Index on the site is 80% Sarah, 20% AI.
